Tara group
is called Nakshatra. The constellation is situated far away from the Sun and
they do not seem to be orbiting the Sun. The moon performs Circumambulation (of the
earth) in 28.3 days by passing through these stars around the earth. Each
constellation is representative of a particular constellation or groups of
stars. A nakshatra is of 3 degrees 20 minutes.
Nakshatra Definition –
According to
the Shatapatha Brahmin - Na + Kshatra, means- Powerless.
According to
Nirukta - the word Nakshatra originated from Naksha (meaning-getting) metal.
Nakta = night, Tra = protector. That is, one who is the guardian of the night
is called Nakshatra.
According to
Taittiriya Brahmin-Nakshatras are considered to be the house (house) of the
gods.
According to the Nidana Sutra - The sun spends
13 days in each constellation. The union of the moon with the constellations is
called Nakshatra Yoga.
According to
the Rigveda- the constellation is called the world that does not decay.
॥ Na Ksharti, na
Sarti Iti Nakshatrah ॥
That is, neither moving nor moving. The one who is stable is called Nakshatra.

The group of stars in the sky is called Nakshatra. Just as kilometers are used to measure distance on the Earth, similarly constellations are used to measure the distance of the sky. The entire sky division is divided into twenty-seven (27) parts. In addition to this, there is also one twenty-eight (28) nakshatras, whose total value has decreased by nineteen (19).
The names of the constellations are as follows-
Ashwini Bharani Chav Kritika Rohini mrigah.
Ardra Punarvasuh Pushyastatah Shlesha Magha tatha. Purvafalgunika Tasmaduttaraphalguni
Tatah. Hastashchitra tatha Swati Vishakha
Tadranantaram. Anuradha Tato Jyestha tatha Mul Nigdyate. Purvashadhottarashadha
Abhijichharavanastah.

Bharani, Kritika, Rohini, Mrigashira, Ardra, Punavasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha,
Purvaphalguni, Uttaraphalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Visakha, Anuradha,
Jyestha, Moola, Purvashada, Uttarshada, Shravan, Dhanishna, Prebhadha
Uttarabhadrapada, Revathi - This is twenty-eight (28) nakshatra. The fourth
phase of Uttarashada (fifteen (15) hours of the end) and the fifteenth (15)
part of the beginning of Shravan Nakshatra (four (4) hours of the beginning) is
called Abhijit Nakshatra. It is considered the twenty-seventh (27) nakshatra.
Each nakshatra is divided into four parts (phases), which are called the first, second, third and fourth stages, to closely observe astrology.

Rohini,
Ashwini, Mrigashira, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, all three Uttara, Revathi, Shravan,
Dhanishtana, Punarvasu, Anuradha and Swati should do auspicious work in these
nakshatras. The three Purvas, Visakha, Jyestha, Mul, Ardra and Shatabhisha
should do ordinary work in these constellations. Bharani, Kritika, Ashlesha and
Magha prove furious and evil in these constellations.

Andhalochan nakshatra -

Panchaka nakshatra -
Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purvabhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada, Revathi These
five nakshatras are known as Panchak.
Moolanakshatra -
Jyeshtha, Ashlesha, Revathi, Ashwini, Mool, Magha These six constellations
